A leader has a vision – a plan. It is a good time to reflect. Where are you in your spiritual wellness plan? The most important plan you should consider is your spiritual plan. From our toolbox, take one of our online assessments from Servant Leadership NOW: “Stepping Up Your Leadership Call” https://bulluckg.com/online-assessments/ #servantleadership #visionaryleadership
WHY AN ASSESSMENT?
First, taking an assessment allows us to reflect upon the goodness of the Lord. Having a “rod” in the hand gives us a type of measurement for reaching the goal.
Second, God’s leaders often do strange things. The prophet, Hosea, is an example of doing a strange thing. Directed by God, Hosea married a prostitute named Gomer.
The story of Hosea and Gomer is an example of evaluation and spiritual restoration. It is an example of how God’s love and mercy for His people unfolds as a process of restoration for His people.
God assesses His people according to His standards – not man’s. Prophets like Moses, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Jeremiah are examples of priests who were called to assess the people – take a look at their situation.
Overall, assessment is a difficult thing for people. Often, we will assess others but find it difficult to assess ourselves. Yet, it is a requirement for building and meeting goals.
Re-assessment is necessary before restoration. The steps of Godly restoration includes repentance (everyday). In repentance, there is a revival of the soul; revival yields a receipt on return. In other words, there is a reciprocation (reward) from God because of your obedience of repentance.
The fact that God loves us so much that He gives us new mercy each day is a testament of His assessment of His people. As a people, we must reciprocate with thanksgiving daily. God allows us to refresh ourselves beside the still waters basking in His comfort. His daily restoration starts with a replenishing of our soul.
Strange things happen for God’s people, especially in strange territories. In this season, revisit your spiritual plans; revisit what He has said; allow God’s Holy Spirit to bring you to a place of re-assessing for restoration.
We have been endowed by Our Creator for His greatness. When He evaluates His people, He sees you as a part of His plan. Gomer’s restoration is a powerful example of how God’s plan, love and promises cannot be quenched by any man. Just because the plan has been modified, does not mean it will not yield a harvest. For some of us, it will require much discipline. God loves His people; He chastens (disciplines) His people for His kingdom. Know that in His restoration plan, whatever we go through, it will build character.
Like He did with Hosea, God works in the strange but He is NOT a stranger to His people. Just as He explained to Hosea that He has a plan for the children of Israel, He has a plan for each of us. Hosea 2:23, “Then I will say to those who were not my people, “You are My people! And they shall say, “You are my God!
Finally, “Just because God told you to write the vision, it does not mean that you are the only one to carry out the vision; for God will provide the resources for His vision because it is His plan.”
As a leader following His directions, He has given you the vision and conviction for the mission; He will inspire, give you the power and energy to accomplish it.
