Non-Negotiable: The Principles of God

Absolute and Unconditional

The title of our previous blog was “A Principled Man Loves God.” God is principled and His principles do not change. God is absolute. Absolute is unconditional; complete. God is complete. He is “the absolute cause, which means He is the unconditional, complete principled cause of Creation.”  Everything operates according to the principles of “the absolute causation” – our Creator.

Principled Causation in His Wisdom

Truth and Wisdom

Our Creator is Truth; God is Truth.  Creation is a manifestation of Wisdom and Wisdom is God. From substance (that material composition of all properties known to Him), in His wisdom, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1).  Creation is based on principles of God (both spiritual and cosmic principles).

In His creativity, He caused light because in Him is Light.  In His creation, he named the light “day” and the darkness “night.” In His principled wisdom, God separated the waters and caused a distinctive division He called “sky” and “land.” This Great Scientist caused production in the land: i.e., seed-bearing plants, vegetation, and trees.

Eternal Principled Will

Our God is eternity.  Being eternal (everlasting), in His principled wisdom, He established principles of operating time into seasons, years, days, evenings, mornings, and nights.  He caused actions of living creatures to be distinctive: i.e., sea creatures swim, winged birds fly, livestock walk, and smaller creature crawl. It is on His principles that living creatures and seed-bearing vegetation were blessed to multiply and produce after their own kind.   Because God is “The Absolute Cause,” horizons continue over the oceans, thunder continues to crash and roar, sunset and sunrise continues over the earth and the breath of living life “whispers in” (born) and “whispers out” (death).    Still, snow-capped mountains, blazing eclipses, and formational stars operate on His principles.

Righteous in His Sovereignty

Our God is Righteous. The principles of righteousness are of God.  His composition is goodness. God is good.

Our God is sovereign, which means He is self-governing and operates independently of anything or anyone.

In other words, as “the absolute cause,” the principles of cosmos fits and works in his plan. Mankind fits in His plan. The plan of God for mankind is absolute. When man (Adam and Eve) broke the principle of God, man was removed from the Garden of Eden.  That was a physical sign of a spiritual death (fellowship) which was based on God’s non-negotiable principles. Although God is merciful and knew in His Wisdom, that He would allow the works of Jesus the Christ to bring man back into fellowship with Him (through choice), He could not compromise based on His composition – His make-up of who He is.  Every man must work out his own soul salvation (Philippians 2:12).

Truth Prevails

Our alternative is to draw closer to Him for there is no compromise in God’s principles.  To think otherwise, is an illusion of man’s own thinking.  To believe that God requires any liar (the devil and his cohorts) to speak on His behalf is again an illusion of man’s own thinking.

God is not in opposition of Himself because He is Truth. “Truth based on LIES is NOT God’s truth nor principle.”   It is Satan’s lies. It is hypocrisy. It is sin (Malachi 3:6; God does not change).

You cannot change Truth. You cannot change God.

God’s Principles are Non-negotiable

Matthew 7:21-23NIV, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and, in your name, perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Job spoke these words regarding integrity and truth concerning the true God: “…I refuse to say one word that isn’t true.  I refuse to confess to any charge that is false.  There is no way I will ever agree to your accusations.  I will not deny my integrity even if it costs me my life.  I’m holding fast to my integrity and not loosening my grip – and, believe me, I’ll never regret it,” Job 27: 3-6, The Message Bible of Contemporary Language.

Summary

Thus, Servant Leaders must operate in the principles of God and not man-standards.  We must aim to rightly divide the Word of God – “Lord, your face and voice, I seek.”  We do not sit in judgment of others; we discern God’s Truth. We are to love another as God has said that we must do.  The Spirit knows and bears witness of that Truth.  Therefore, we pray for discernment and God’s wisdom.  We pray as in Romans 18, i.e., in view of God’s mercy, to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship; that we do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Then we will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will and if it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

– knowing that God’s principles are non-negotiable!
