God’s Grace …“Throw guilt and anxiety overboard-draw the anchor-trim the sails-man the rudder-a strong gale [of The Spirit] is coming!” From the pages of Growing Strong in the Seasons of Life
The Mindset to Make A Difference
On this day, yes, today, I made a conscious decision to look at the glass as half-full rather than half-empty. By the same token, what if another person chooses the same? There is so much happening in our physical world. We can choose to see our challenges as opportunities. This perspective helps us make a difference for the better.
Yes, my spirit is awakening and so is my mindset. Throw out the anxieties and let us sail with a strong gale.
The Songwriter of Blessings
I recall the words of another songwriter, James Cleveland (deceased). Yes, that old gospel song: ‘I’m Blessed.’ The lyrics resound, “I’m the head and not the tail.”
Above and not Beneath
I’m an overcomer and I walk in Victory,
In Victory
Full of Faith, I have no fear
To Him I will always draw near
Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty
And the Spirit of the Lord is inside of me.I’m blessed and I know that I am blessed.
A Plan of Action
What do the two writers have in common? What makes James emphasize the words “I know I am blessed?” It is as if the words are the anthem of his soul, his song – his soul. Does he see his glass as half-full? Is the glass filled with blessings mixed with challenges? Perhaps he sees a chance to repent. Today, I ask for forgiveness. As a result, God’s Grace …“Throw guilt and anxiety overboard-draw the anchor-trim the sails-man the rudder-a strong gale [of The Spirit] is coming! My spirit is alive and well because of The Spirit within.
Today, all things considered, the writers realize that the glass is half-full. One look around and the view changes. One can see the suffering of others. We have provisions when many do not. Yes, shelter when others are experiencing windstorms, heat waves, volcanic ash, and even war-torn communities. In this moment, today, what opportunities are there to do good (Psalm 37:1-5)?
Today, I do see the glass as half-full of blessings. At the instant I opened my eyes, new mercy was in the glass. God is waiting for me to fill it with his love and help to others. Look beyond myself. He wants to make my glass full. Let it overflow with his kindness, gentleness, patience, peace, forgiveness, and love. How is in your glass today?
