Wellness – Turn and Live
There is so much noise around us. It can actually make you feel uneasily. Turning away is not always the answer. Somethings you must deal with it head-on. The challenge becomes how to deal with it without giving in to the distractions. You must be on guard for wellness. And that real wellness is about the mind, body, soul and spirit. Every day, it is our accountability. We have to make choices about what we give in to.
Deal with the Emotions
Life consists of ups and downs: challenges and successes and trials and tribulations. Feelings are emotions. Your emotions are not facts. There are times when people mistake their feelings as a fact. There is a difference between your feelings and what is a fact. Let’s start with that as a fact. The way you feel about a situation does not make it a fact.
An example of this is the conversation between Peter and Jesus. In Mark 8:33 NLT, Jesus said to Peter, “Get away from me, Satan! You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.” In this situation, Peter’s feelings prevented him from seeing and understanding. Later Peter, as an apostle, grew in the spiritual realm and became wiser about situations. In fact, his ministry grew in explaining spiritual things to other converts. Hence, God’s plan is that we are well. We must rule out the noise for overall victories.
So, how does one turn and live? Where is the book of wellness for a better you? It exists. This book is the best seller that forms Scriptures. There are hundreds of verses about the plan of wellness.
Needless to say, it unfolds as a mystery beginning with the book of Genesis. Then, it unravels through the chapters and lines. The discovery is that everyone has a purpose. Second, everyone has a gift. How one chooses to use the gift is part of the wellness plan.
The Mind
Stimulate your mind with wholesome thinking and refresh your memory with good thoughts.
Noted, you can only have one thought at a time. Even the more, an action is the result of a thought. Even though the scripture relays that whatever one thinks, so is the revealing nature of the person. Contrast that with one is incapable of knowing one’s mind. Therefore, one must take heed of what one is thinking.
The Soul
See the glory that lies within your soul. The author wrote, “MY soul thirsts.” What does your soul thirst for? Is it the knowledge that leads to righteous living? Moreover, the ingredients of the soul consist of emotions. The soul who puts his or her trust in the Holy Creator will not be disappointed. That soul will live and prosper in the things of God.
Think about this, “A washed pig returns to the mud.” Once you taste light, do not return to darkness. Christ is the Morning Star of your heart – your soul. He is the light that shines through bitterness and darkness. Let not Jealousy, selfish ambitions, and things of this sort dwell in your soul.
The Spirit
Search for peace and work to maintain it (1 Peter 3:11). Finally, this will require that you feed upon pure spiritual food; it requires that you grow from spiritual milk to a full experience of digesting in the feast that comes with salvation of the mind, body and soul. Thus, the scriptures say we are to cry out for this type of nourishment.
