God answers prayers. Believers, be encouraged. There is a receipt in heaven. Where? In the book of Revelation, John, a servant of God, speaks of events that must take place concerning the Kingdom of God. Because of John's preaching about Jesus the Christ, is in exile. Yet, John writes what is revealed to him by the Lord. He tells that which is happening at the time and of things that will happen in the future.

In the fifth chapter of Revelation, he talks about a sealed scroll, which had seven seals. Nor in earth, or heaven, not even below the earth, was one found worthy to unseal this scroll. In this vision of John, he speaks of the Lamb, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David's throne, who is the only one worthy to unseal this scroll. Verse 8 says, "And when he took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they held gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God's people. There is an account in heaven of servants' prayers!

Who Received These Prayers?

The recipient who is worthy to unseal the scroll is Jesus, the Lamb of God. Verses 9-10 states, " And they sang a new song with these words: "You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it for you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth." The Lamb opened each seal, one by one.

Who Are God’s Holy People?

When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, John said, ” I saw the altar the souls of all who had been martyred for the word of God and for being faithful in their testimony.  They asked, “How long before you judge the people and avenge our blood for what they have done to us?”  But they were given white robes and told, “Wait a little longer; wait, until there is a full accounting of other brothers and sisters; the fellow servants of Jesus who are to be martyred and will join you.

John continued. In Revelation 7:13-17, “Then one of the twenty-four elders asked me, “Who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from?” “And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white. That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple and he who sits on the throne. They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun. For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Believers, this is the One who receives the prayers of the servants of God!

Prayers – The Offering to God

In the eighth chapter, the text reads how the Lamb (Jesus) broke the seventh seal on the scroll. All of heaven was silent for about half an hour. Then one of the angels took a gold incense burner and stood at the altar. Given to him was a great amount of incense. It was mixed with the prayers of God’s people as an offering. The smoke from the incense, mixed with prayers of God’s holy people, went up to God.

A Holy Harvest From the Earth

Take a look! There are the 144,000 who has been redeemed from the earth (Revelation 14).  They have been purchased from among the people on the earth.  In addition, there are those who endured persecution patiently, obeying God’s commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus. “And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this down; Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on.  Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!”

Moreover, “Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast (Revelation 19).”  “I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people!  He will live with them, and they will be his people.  God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain.  All these things are gone forever.”  Thus, your prayers have been answered!

Praying to the Father

Hence, in praying the will of the Father, your prayers have a receipt date.  God stamps each prayer at the throne of grace.  You may have forgotten the time and date it was presented before the throne of grace, but God did not forget.  It was received and the blood of Jesus sealed it!  It was not lost in transient.  By faith, expect Him to answer.
