How Do You Build a House?

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

“You may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall,” Proverbs 16:32 NLT.  What a Word to think on? How do you build a house?

Spiritual Connection

How do you build the house? Our house is more than a building. It is the body of God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). How important is your spiritual house?  Are you throwing the dice against the wall in hope that it will fall as you would like? What is the condition of your house? Do you have joy in your house? Are you ready to rebuild or rededicate it?

The Season of Rebuilding

It is the season of rebuilding! Yearly, we commemorate the season of Lent beginning with Ash Wednesday. It is the time that we remember the temptation of Jesus (by Satan) in preparation of his ministry.  This year, 2024, Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day will occur on the same date, February 14th. It is the time that many will spring clean – get rid of useless things – things that need to go!!!

Inside the House

The Word says, “If you repay good with evil, evil will never leave your house.” Therefore, be extremely careful how you build. Evil within the walls of the house is detrimental to the occupants.

A Strong Foundation

I recall, as a child, after a hurricane, we took a ride to see the destruction in the surrounding towns. Amazingly, it was the old raggedy, wood houses that were still standing. The more modern homes were torn apart. Those old, raggedy wood houses had been built on a solid foundation. What an example of Matthew 7. When the elements (rain, floods, and wind) come, the house will not fall.

Right now, it is a time to stand against all elements of evil in the house.
