Here are a few words from the Book of Wisdom, Proverbs, to encourage the existence of love and light for battling your circumstances.
Everyone wants to experience love; for our Creator is love. More importantly, God is both love and light. On the other hand, it is your choice to walk in His “Love and light.” It is easy to love those who love you. It is NOT so easy to love those who wish to do you harm. Yet, this what is required when you choose light over darkness and love over hate. This does not mean that you are to be a doormat and accept the constant abuse of your enemy. No, as disciples of God, do not allow the enemy to take advantage nor rob you of your joy. You have the legal authority, as a child of the Highest, over such circumstances. How does this work?
How Does Love and Light Co-Exist?
A. Proverbs 3:25 New Living Translation (NLT), “You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap. ” While this seems complicated, it is not.
- Focus your mind on God. The enemy wants to make you think more about the problem rather than the One who knows all about your situation. God is the problem-solver. He has the answer that you need to resolve your situation.
- Speak words of wisdom and encouragement to nurture your spirit-mind. This will lighten your load. Read scriptures that will lift (edify) you rather than words that depress you. Listen for words that give you wisdom and good judgment.
- Ask the Holy Spirit for help. He is available to help you in your weakness. He wants to strengthen and teach you. He will comfort and guide you because this is the job of the Holy Spirit.
Ants, Light and Darkness
B. Proverbs 6:6, “Take a lesson from the ants … Learn from their ways and become wise! They have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, yet they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.”
Have you ever pondered Where do ants go at night? A study from the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg, published in the Journal of Insect Behavior, states that worker ants, which appear to be constantly awake, spread throughout the day. In contrast, their queen can doze off deeply for a total of 9.4 hours a day. Accordingly, ants' sleeping habits are no different from our own. They take naps, and some of them even dream. Ants can function in light conditions, and they navigate, forge, and go about on the darkest nights.
Forge, Navigate and Go into the Light
Labor is hard work; however, your labor is for the Lord (the Lord of light); When light shows up, darkness disappears. There is not darkness in Him. God will provide sweets like summer fruit. He will reward you because the Lord knows every season that he has planned for your life. You will reap the good if you do not fall away.
Work while it is day. Moreover, you can be at rest as you labor. There will come a time when your work on earth is finished. Keep in mind that this life on earth is temporary. Your real assignment is eternal rest that the Lord provides.
Love and Light is Victory
Without love or light, there is no hope. People who feel that they do not have either love or light, suffer from the symptoms of loss. They lose their way. Their desire to be and do better is influenced by more hate; then hate becomes the motivation for living. Hate drives them toward darker places. They will look for others who have the same energy drive. Although they experience unsafe situations, those spaces become preferred places to be because of the ideal of unification. Unless there is a turnaround, they become darker and enter a marred pit. Their choice of leadership is more destruction, chaos and is praised by veneration – they are fueled by a disdain for true love and light. The choice to stay in the pit is fueled by mere excuses to justify personal actions and others similar actions. Their worship is that of like-minded individuals; these are their banners of honor and charismatic hope. God calls them fools and idolaters. God says, “Joyful are those who listens to him.”
